Manuka Honey From New Zealand

The Maoris of New Zealand had known about the curing properties of the extracts of the Manuka trees to cure various ailment. When the white came to invade the land, the local knowledge was transferred to them. Extensive research were carry out to find the source of the antibacteria property of the Manuka honey. Finally in 2006,  it was found the the flowers of Manuka flowers contain nutritional methylglyoxal. Infact, the Manuka honey is the only food in the world to contain a significant amount of nutritional methylglyoxal. The higher the percentage of it, the higher is the antibacterial properties.

Some of the ailments curable by Manuka Honey:
